Meet Natasha and Erik. A super couple from Washington State here to adopt. They took us to visit the Monastery Caves, the WWII museum, and the underground mall at Independence Square. Natasha is fluent in Russian so we took advantage of her language ability and was able to really enjoy the "facts" associated with the museums. We also took the metro (subway) which was an experience. Thanks so much, Erik and Natasha!!!
We were able to experience so much today. The impact of the WWII museum was indescribable!! It is amazing being located in a place where you actually see the impact of such an event. What else can I say....
Have you meet "Big Moma"? This is Ukraine's version of the "Statue of Liberty". This picture was taken from one of the "peep holes" in the fort bordering the Monestary Caves. Guess what they used the holes for? There are still a couple of canons placed in some of the holes. (again, sorry the pic is sideways!)
Just a few of the pictures from our adventures today. Tomorrow we are going for our second referral. How nervous are we right now?! Please remember all of those families, including Natasha and Erik, that have second appointments tomorrow. Pray for these families to be introduced to their kids, to begin their lives together as a "forever family".

How funny! We had dinner with them about a week ago in Kherson! We live near eachother in the USA but had to come all the way to Ukraine to meet! God truly laughs at us at times I think!

I think all of us American folks end up at TGI Friday's at some point in during our stay in Ukraine. There is a GREAT oriental resturant near the U.S. Embassy - not the Consulate office if you get the change to go there.

Thanks for sharing the photos from your day sightseeing. I can only imagine how emotional the WWII museum must have been. To be so close to where it all happened. It is wonderful to have Erik and Natasha's help too!
