Happy Birthday Colton Yuri...

Today was Colton's birthday! I just "delivered" a son and he is already 7! Yikes! As per his birthday request, we went out for pizza. We were told the restaurant had only "Personal" pizzas, so the driver ordered us 3. One for Bob, one for me and one for the kids to share. When they brought out the pizzas, our jaw dropped. They were the size of a medium pizza in America! For one, we were shocked that you would get such a large portion here in Ukraine. We also thought "how on earth will we eat all this"?! Oh well, leftovers for dinner right?! Wrong! Yuri put away a whole pizza by himself! I thought he would explode! At least the kids won't go to bed hungry tonight.

Aizley refuses to give me a serious picture. Anytime she sees the camera in her direction, she forms a new funny face and then runs to the camera to see how she looks. What a goofball!

We then headed back to the orphanage for Colton to open his present. Oh, a boy and his car! He loved this remote control car. He actually stayed outside and played for the better part of an hour! These kids don't really get into the outside thing. We have to all but force them to go out on sunny days. Hope that changes once home. Colton also received a couple packs of bubble gum.

(notice the bubble?)

We had such a great time today. The kids are really getting comfortable with us and trusting in the fact that we will provide for them and love them. They are able to be themselves around us, burps and all.

One day down, nine to go...

Happy Birthday Colton! Looks like you had a fun-filled birthday celebration. I laughed at thinking of you eating on 3 medium pizzas. I guess this will give you an idea of how to stock your pantry once home. Glad you are enjoying your time during the wait! At least you are now in the countdown!

Happy Birthday Colton Yuri!!!! What a neat experience to be able to be with him on his birthday so soon after becoming his parents. We celebrated Maddie's 4th birthday just two weeks after coming home and it was one of the best coming home presents any of us could have asked for!
