Busy Weekend...

Wow, we have been home for two complete weeks now! The kids have changed so much in just this short time. Their english is coming along with leaps and bounds. Everyday they surprise us with a new phrase that they have heard or one that they have composed on their own. The newest being, "Peaches (one of our dogs) no beg!" Aizley and Colton can both write their names in english and we are learning our address and going over the abc's.

We have also made leaps in dealing with social situations and meeting new people. This Friday we attended my youngest sister's 12th grade graduation. The kids were amazing through this long, very hot program and earned themselves a happy meal from Mickey D's. The kids were so happy for their "titika Ariel" and yelled and clapped as she received her diploma. Way to go Ariel, we love ya!!

They also met all their closest cousins at the graduation. They fit right in, just like stair-steps!

On Saturday, we visited with cousin Treyton and ended up putting up his pool. Of course, I layed my camera out on the table so I wouldn't forget it and that's right where it stayed so no pics! The kids spent all day playing on the swing set, riding four-wheelers with their Uncle Jerry, and "helping" Aunt Murphy clean out the pool. They love Uncle Jerry! He gives them chocolates and piggy-back rides on cue.

Then today we attended church. The kids made it through church with the help of their "color wonder" paper and some gum that our pew neighbor Mrs. Lois gave them. I'm so proud!

The kids are progressing well overall and we are seeing less tantrums and fusses. They are understanding "time outs" and are getting to the point where they understand what they should and should not be doing. They have even started tattling on each other when the other is getting on their nerves or using the other to get something once we say no. Typical siblings! We have also been dividing our time with the kids. Colton will stay with me on occasion while Papa and Aizley go for icecream, or Aizley and I will go clothes shopping. She and I are quickly becoming shopping buddies :)

Off to t.v. time with the kids...

I am so happy to hear how well things are going for your family. We will be going to Ukraine in October to build our family and have enjoyed following your journey to and through adoption. You sound like you have been a family for years. Thanks for sharing.

Glad to see that all is going very well for you. We were on vacation last week, so I'm just now catching up. Love the photos of the kiddos. They look so happy. Let's try to do lunch this week (maybe Thursday?).
