Finally, two more citizens have been added. Yeah! Colton's paperwork actually came in during the first week of June but Aizley's paperwork needed an updated picture for some reason. "No more Ukraine, always America?" they asked with smiles on their faces. "Yes, you can always stay in America!" Hopefully, this 4th will be even that much more memorable for them now.
The kids have really enjoyed summer school and we hope they have a great base for starting regular classes in August. Every day they bring home some of the neatest crafts and have fun trying to explain to me and papa what the craft is and what it does. Today's them was the ocean and they made jellyfish out of coffee filters and fish out of paper bags. Aren't they cool?!
I have mentioned how affectionate Aizley has become over the past week or so. Here's the proof...
This girl is such a "Papa's Girl!" She follows him around like a shadow. Here, she is watching "Man vs. Wild" (or something like that)right before dinner.
We have also experienced our first sit-down restaurant meal. We went to Pe-King (we live in a small town). The kids were absolutely amazed at the rows of buffet tables lined up. They were almost in tears as we made them take their extremely full plates back to the table to begin eating. They still had two buffets to visit and wanted to try it all. The icecream machine was an absolute thrill. "Chocolate and white?!" meaning a chocolate/vanilla swirl. When the fortune cookies finally came, the kids couldn't believe they could top off their very full meals with cookies. Aizley's fortune said something to the effect of learning more from wise men than fools, while Colton's fortune said "this trip will be one to remember". How appropriate. My fortune was a little eerie. "Your feet will tred on many countries' soils" :)
Wonder is that's an indicator for the future?

All the new things they are experiencing is the one thing I loved about adopting older kids. Younger ones can't really appreciate all the "newness" of living in America.

Congratulations Aizley and Colten! So sweet to hear how proud they are to be Americans. I laughed at the thought of them at their first buffet. After some of Colten's eating sprees in Ukraine, I thought you might end up eating at buffets on a regular basis!
