We have been spending the evenings outdoors, just soaking in the day. Loafing around, as they say. Here's a taste of what we've been up to.
Limb Surfing... Just grab a low lying limb, take a running start and jump. Colton tells me this reminds him of being in Ukraine and how the kids at the orphanage would run to the park there and go "limb surfing" on the Weeping Willow trees.
Aizley showing off her skills...
Of course, roasting marshmallows is always a big hit at our house. This particular evening was followed with a game of hide and seek by moonlight in the corn field.
We have also headed to the park on many occasions. The kids always have friends there to play with. I have been in search of the perfect spot for a family picture, so before running away to play with friends I was able to get a few precious shots of my cuties.
Colton enjoying the ducks...
Gorgeous Aiz posing for me...
"Look, mom!"
With the onset of cooler weather must follow the fall decorations. Aizley, a girl after my own heart, decided to make the whole house "spooky". No frilly fairies for her, she is creepy to the core. As creepy as Hobby Lobby will allow her to be, that is!
One of the owls that have invaded my bookshelves...
Her fuzzy spider...
We have also had a new addition to our household. Last Sunday morning, groggy eyed and in my jammies, I opened the door to let the dogs out and in ran this half starved, 8 pound, recently ran over thing....who is know known as Rada.
One vet visit, a cast for a broken leg, and a bag of dog food later, this beautiful boxer mix is on her way to a full recovery.
Last week at school was a mild one. The school was hosting one of their fundraising events... The Fun Run. You sponsor a child to run as many laps as they can in 45 minutes time. I was able to volunteer for this event. My little man was up first...
Next, Aizley tore up the track.
After a quick visit with her teacher, she and I left early for a lunch date before heading back to pick Colton up early. Now, we are on a 2 week, yea...TWO weeks, Fall break.
