Celebrating The Small Stuff...

It's been a remotely quiet week at our house. There is a lot to be said for "quiet", isn't there?! If only it can stay "peace-st-ful", as Aizley says.

I want to take a moment, though, and brag a little. Report cards came out Friday and Colton made the 2nd honor roll and Aizley made the 1st!!! That's my babies!! They have worked so hard over the first 9 weeks of school and are just flurishing. We thought we would just have a laid back weekend around the house, enjoying the cool weather.

With the cooler fall weather approaching, all the many acres of corn that Pa planted are almost ready for harvesting. We took advantage of the dying corn stalks and have been making mazes and forts. Pretty neat, huh?!


We also spent the day knocking extra stalks over so that we can make a "corn house" in the front yard for Halloween to go with our pumpkins. We managed a bundle that was so big around, it took me and the kids to tie the thing but with the wind blowing so hard it wouldn't stay up. We had to play in the corn fort instead.


We then had planed a picnic with babushka and dedushka on Sunday after church. We woke up to rain. Lots of it. So, we went to the community center and sat under a pavilion and picniced on! After eating KFC, the kids got to play in the rain. Too much fun.

Colton is carrying a play lizard he found. They spent the day throwing the lizard across the tennis courts and trying to find the ugly little thing. Why can't they be this creative at home?!

We are trying to stay on top of our homework this week and get everything we can done in time for our 2 week Fall Break! So many things to do, so little time!
