Saturday, the 10th, was the first soccer game for the Undertakers. Don't they look vicious?! Watch out Warriors!
They were off to a great start, blocking the first couple of shots, running the ball very well....
The Coach's even got into the game... (notice assistant coach Papa in the black shirt?)
...then, the game went south for the Undertakers. Two kids, including Colton, tried stopping the ball with their faces and one took a complete wipe out. The Undertakers were buried by the El Rancho Warriors 5-0. Although it was a rough start to the season, that day, we still felt like winners as one year ago we were granted the rights of the two most special kids in the world! We have come from sitting in a tiny, green tinted court room in Ivankiv, Ukraine to sitting on the side lines of the youth soccer field in Smithville watching our Undertakers run with their new friends. I don't know what to say to express the joy and privaledge we get from parenting these two. Thank you, dear Lord, for allowing us the oppertunity of being part of Aizley and Colton's lives!! Despite the difficulty in getting there, it was/is completely worth it!!!
Sunday, my baby boy turned 8 years old! We were lucky in that last year we were able to be with him on his birthday in Ukraine. We went out for pizza and had bought him a remote controlled truck.
This year, we were able to celebrate with his friends and family at the park. He had such a great turn out. Lots of games, tons of food and presents, what more could you ask for?! Happy Birthday Colton!!!
Time for treats...
After the treats, it was time for the pinata!!
Aftermath...
Then, on to presents. He received 8 water gun type toys, a soccer ball and a cool military hat.
What a great day overall. He had two of his "girlfriends" from school to show up. He was in heaven! He went home and unloaded all of his loot, then headed outside to enjoy his cool stuff. What a beautiful boy!
One down, many more to go! Love ya, little dude!
