On January 6th, we lost our dear great-grandmother Jodie. Although she was 92 (!), she was in excellent health and it was somewhat of a surprise to us all. Grandma Jodie's death has been the first close death the kids were ever associated with. They did so well with understanding Grandma Jodie was called to stay with Jesus. They have included her in their prayers ever since.
Shortly after, my mom and dad decided to move to the same town that we live in. The kids are so excited that Babushka will be picking them up from school now on. She even has a coveted "paved drive" at her new house that all country kids dream of for riding their bikes and scooters down.
We have been enjoying unbelievably warm weather and hence have stayed outside for the past few weeks. Seriously, mid 60's in January! As an early Valentines present, we spent Superbowl Sunday at ...
Half price admission. Gotta Love That!! We arrived after Church a little late, around 2 pm and were rushed through the park. We didn't get to see the elephants or ride the carousel, but we did get to check out some of our favorites. Like the meerkats. Every time we go, this is the attraction that gets the most attention. They love sticking their heads up through the tube in the center of the exhibit.
Of course the zebras are a favorite of Aizley's. She is totally into the black and white stripes.
Inside the "local rivers" display, this cute little guy was the fam favorite. See how he would "cheese" for the camera?!
A quick shot outside the southern plantation with my southern belle and gentleman.
Despite the cool spell that took hold over the weekend, the kids ventured out for a little energy release. The most used Xmas gift of all.... The trampoline! I get tons of "take a picture of this" but, hey, they are OUTSIDE!!
Aizley Cheesin'
Colt showin' me his "skills"
Of course I couldn't let today pass by without something special, "just because I love 'em". So, last night I hid a stuffed lion and a stuffed zebra in the couch cushions. We were almost out the door before Colt noticed something fuzzy. These guys are too silly...
But, I received a surprise as well.....
