Momma Date Night...

Every once in a while, like on the rare weekend out of the year where we have no school projects to work on, books to read, or family function planned, we take turns doing "date nights" with our kiddos.  This past Saturday happened to be an impromptu date night.  Papa and Aizley stayed home as some attitudes were a little up in the air.  They made homemade pizza with green & black olives (yuck!) and washed the dogs who decided to follow them while riding through the woods on the four-wheeler and hit every stinky puddle of nasty-ness.

Colt and I hit up the Circus.  He is so into the animals and really enjoyed the creepy, yet very funny, clown.

Being the 9 year old boy that he is, he laughed each and EVERY time the elephants pooped!

The big furry white lion in the back gave each of the performers a "hug".

Of course he loved the performers.  He thought it was crazy that they had an 11 year old doing acrobats (notice little bit in center).  Quite frankly, I did too!

During the intermission, my eagle eye found a dollar shoved under the bleachers.  His reward was a free snow cone.  He has found $2 dollars in a total of 2 weeks.  Nothing to keep him rich, but so much fun for him.  "I'm really lucky, ain't I?"

Finally, the most "hold your breath moment" for me came with this guy.  He eventually stacked 4 wooden kitchen chairs on top of this platform and did a hand stand on top of that!!  At one point, one of the chairs skidded just a little.  The safety guys came running from the sides of the arena, trying to steady him.  We were all on our feet.

And, of course, the best part of the night was having one on one time with my little dude!

Sounds like fun! I can't wait to be able to take the kids to the circus.
